Intel, which is well known for its high end tech products, now brings a very distinguishing product “iSample” (a vending machine) that can read and recognize the shoppers.
Intel in collaboration with Kraft Foods has installed only two machines at the moment since it is under trial run, one at Shedd Aquarium in Chicago and second in South Street Seaport ferry service in New York. However, Intel intends to bring forth such vending machines in all markets, which can help companies to analyze their customers’ age, gender, expressions etc.
iSample excludes children from its reading ability since it is aimed only at adults. Once a person steps up to the Intel’s iSample it goes through lots of inner calculation based on person’s face size, structure, eyes…all in split seconds to recognize the age and gender of that specific individual.
The vending machine can be very helpful for companies to know about the choice of their customers regarding their products which ultimately paves the way for better customer service.
