Google had started an anti-SOPA and PIPA petition asking its users to sign it out to protest against two anti-piracy laws circulating in Congress.
Being the favorite searching website, it received positive responses from millions of its users with 4.5 million people signing the petition in against SOPA and PIPA.
Google blocked out its logo completely for the first time on the day of mass protest (past Wednesday), with a message displayed, “Tell Congress: Please don’t censor the web”, then the link led to a page of petition, which was highlighted stating “although fighting online piracy is important, the plan of attack described in the SOPA and PIPA bills would be ineffective”.
Also, the White House blog reported that 103785 people have joined petition through various popular social networks and search engines.
A spokesman from Word Press told that 25000 blog on its platform have been recorded protesting against SOPA and PIPA by blocking their websites completely.
