Marco Pinter who has a background in cognitive psychology, is also a computer scientist. He has created robotically controlled sculptures that interact with on-screen imagery to form a virtual effect. That means, Pinter’s creation forms an illusion of a physical object which in real doesn’t exist.

A number of TV screens are used to project different shapes that move from one screen to another letting the human eye to fill the gap in between. Each screen is at a fair distance from the other. In this mechanism Pinter has used cogs, bones and pendulum that are also part of the trick.

Marco Pinter has worked on an idea that how much we can rely on our perception. He used Max and Processing to design the program and then linked it to Arduino controllers to achieve perfect timing for a smooth flow of mechanism.

Pinter’s creation is being exhibited at AC Institute in NY (Jan 12th – Feb 4th).
