Democratic, Edward Markey, sent a letter to Google chief executive Larry Page this Thursday mentioning his concerns about the policy changes that have recently been announced by search giant.
He said that the current change in privacy policy will make it more difficult for users to protect their privacy as it will be exposed to targeted advertisers. Markey has also mentioned in the letter that he will ask the FTC (Federal Trade Commission) to view if Google’s new policy contradicts with current settlement with agency.
On the opposite, Google says that it has unified 60 different privacy policies into one to give user simpler and enhanced experience over its products (YouTube, Gmail, Google+).
Privacy policies have been under spotlight from quite a time now. Big names like Facebook and Google also, came under scrutiny by US officials in different times.
