Geminoid is an air servo-powered android with eye, mouth, head, and shoulder mobility. It can also be remote-operated so that it acts as a surrogate for a distant user, reproducing her facial expressions and voice.

The mechanical lady was modeled on a real woman in her twenties. The photogenic robot was developed by Osaka University professor Hiroshi Ishiguro and his team, in collaboration with ATR Intelligent Robotics and Communication Laboratories, and Kokoro (a Tokyo-based entertainment firm known for its Actroid androids).

Geminoid1 Android Working As A Model At Takashimaya Mall, Tokyo (Video)

A Geminoid-F android has got a modeling job at Takashimaya departmental store in Shinjuku, Tokyo. Her duty is to stay still in the showcase and acts like as if waiting for a friend for Valentine’s Day.

The android moves naturally, as if it’s patiently waiting for someone. So it doesn’t continually react to passersby but sometimes, it would return you a smile.
