iPad. Apple Had To Remove 3G iPhones And iPads From Germany

Last day Apple obeyed the court orders to remove its 3G iPhones and iPads from all the German retail stores as Motorola won a patent suit for that.

The dispute between two companies was over the use of “Frand” which is very crucial for GPRS data transmission. Motorola said it tried to negotiate with Apple in the past but with no deal made it knocked at court’s door.

The order to remove certain iDevices came on the same day when Motorola won another permanent injunction against Apple’s iCloud push email service that also infringes one of Motorola’s patents. If demanded then Cupertino will have to disallow the push email through iCloud on German iPhones and iPads.

A spokesman from Apple said “Apple is appealing this ruling because Motorola repeatedly refuses to license this patent to Apple on reasonable terms, despite having declared it an industry standard patent seven years ago.”
