The famous App Store is about to make a record of most downloaded apps from an online app store by hitting the mark of 25 billion. Apple’s App Store offers more than 550,000 apps to its valued customers. But the store has been feeling the heat of criticism over and over again due to lack of ability to search certain apps efficiently. That thing seems to change soon.
Apple has acquired Chomp Inc against $50 million. Chomp is San Francisco based company that lets users search their desired applications on App Store, and Android Market by entering keywords. For example, if you want to search for launcher applications, or communication apps, simply enter these words and have the results at your door.
It is said that 20 employees of Chomp and its technology will shift to Apple. I wonder once the process is completed wholly, what will happen to Android’s Chomp?
