European and Latin American police has claimed arresting 25 members of Anonymous from. The statement also says that 250 IT related equipment is also seized from different locations in Spain, Colombia, Chile, and Argentina.
Spanish authorities said that out of four members arrested one is allegedly the manager of Anonymous’ operations in Latin America and Spain. Two out of these members have been released on bail while remaining two are in police custody.
Colombian Ministry of Defence and the Presidency, Chile’s national library, and the Chilean electricity company Endesa were attacked as an operation by these arrested Anonymous members.
If you don’t know, Anonymous is a group of activists that gather online to hack various governmental and private systems considered to take actions to take down freedom of speech. The group has been very forefront in the movements against SOPA and PIPA bill in United States and now playing a vital role in Europe against ACTA.
