Nokia.. Nokia Files A Patent For Vibrating Magnetic Tattoo Alerts
I am assuming you’ve already experienced the vibration when you press alphanumeric keys on your Samsung or HTC phones. That is called haptics.

Nokia has filed a patent application in the US Patent and Trade Office presenting an idea of magnetic tattoos that would vibrate to signal the users for certain actions on their smart phones.

For example, imagine you have a tattoo on your forearm that vibrates to notify you about the received message, incoming call, and a calendar event on your cell phone.

Nokia is to use “Ferromagnetic” material to spray on your skin or to make a tattoo using this material that would pair with your smart phone for a vibrating process to begin.

The patent reads “The magnetic field may cause vibration of one short pulse, multiple short pulses, few long pulses… strong pulses, weak pulses and so on.”

The patent also explains the tattoo can work as a magnetic identity for the user to protect his device from being misused by others. It sounds really impressive but how long it will take to bring such idea into practical form for everyday consumers is unknown at the moment.

Cambridge-based Zoran Radivojevic is named the innovation leader for this patent idea.
