Zynga Inc is to acquire OMGPOP in a deal worth $200. The to-be-acquired company is based in New York and has produced a game title “Draw Something” that appeared on top apps charts on Apple and Android in 84 countries.
Although, no official comment has been passed out by either of the company but sources claim that 40 employees of OMGPOP will join Zynga but company headquarter will remain in NY City.
Experts view that after launching its own platform and after the value it gained at IPO last year, Zynga, can afford a $200m deal but it might prove little risky to acquire a company who has produced merely one hit title in recent months.
Zynga has been making its expansion moves in recent months but still 93% of its total revenue comes from Facebook.
