The biggest online social network, Facebook, seems to have started learning lessons from the legal allegations imposed by Yahoo and other companies.
In a covert deal Facebook has been reported to buy 750 patents related to networking and software from IBM. The unknown source quotes at least 56 issued patents and 503 patents are in application process.
One of Facebook statement reads “We expect the number of patent and other intellectual property claims against us to grow.”
“We may introduce new products, including in areas where we currently do not compete, which could increase our exposure to patent and other intellectual property claims.”
Yahoo, last month, demanded the license fee from the social networking giant for infringing its ads & privacy technology, and news feeds.
None from IBM and Facebook has made a comment over this recent deal.
