If you feel like shaking hand with your girl friend sitting on the other side of a computer having tele-conference or video chat with you then a robotic hand being developed by Osaka University will do the trick for you. Just don’t worry. It will be warm experience.
The robotic hand is developed for tele-handshaking and it is heated with a film heater to a temperature of 37 Celsius degrees so its warmth is felt like real person’s hand. For the firmness of grip the researchers have installed a pressure sensor and sponge and silicon is used to achieve the texture of human skin.
