
A judge from Northern District court of California, Lucy Koh, has ordered Apple and Samsung to settle their difference in scheduled talks. Koh has referred both companies to a San Francisco based judge who will lead the talks between them.
Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO, and Choi Gee-sung who is the CEO of Samsung, will meet each other with their general counsels.
Apple and Samsung have been involved in an intense patent battle since last year when the iPhone maker attacked the South Korean company accusing it for “slavishly” copying the technology of iPhone and iPad into its Galaxy line of tablets and smartphones.
Samsung counterattacked that led to a cold war which stretched over 10 countries battling over more than 20 cases.
Samsung has been trying to dent the domination of Apple in the consumer market with its Galaxy series but still the Cupertino with its handful of smartphones and tablets maintaining a strong position.
