Eric Schmidt and Larry Page have joined the living legend of Hollywood director James Cameron to back a space mission that would focus on the exploration of natural resources.
More details about this project will be made public this Tuesday when all the investors will hold a press conference at Museum of Flight in Seattle.
Google’s Page and Schmidt, and Cameron are not alone in this space adventure, Peter Diamandis who is a space entrepreneur, Charles Simonyi who once was a top exec at Microsoft, and K. Ram Shriram who is a director at Google Inc are joining the trio.
They all are getting together for Planetary Resources (project) that was co-founded by Eric Anderson, and of course he is also backing this project.
Planetary Resources is all about “space exploration and natural resources”, exploring the possibilities of mining natural resources from asteroids. The press release states that this venture will add “trillions of dollars to the global GDP.”
I am really looking forward to dig out the details about this space venture.
