Based on the invertible cube design of Paul Schatz Stiftung, an automation company from Germany has created a beautiful flying object. Called “SmartInversion”, it measures 2.33 kilograms and 4.75 meters across.
SmartInversion is very light weight as it has six identical prisms with each of them consisting of “two carbon-fibre end rods and four peripheral rods, likewise of carbon fibre”. The helium filled object has an ARM processor, an 8.4V lithium polymer battery, and servo motors, and it repeatedly turn inside-out to create mesmerising sight.
With its battery it can stay up in the air for about 15 minutes, and it can be controlled via an iPhone app. Flying a geometrical shape with iPhone will be an experience like no other.
