Nexus 7, World’s First Quad Core 7inch Tab (Video)

Finally, the rumor factory was put to an end and it came down to the Wednesday when Google uncurtained its home-made tablet dubbed as Nexus 7. A seven incher is clearly a direct rival for Amazon’s successful Kindle Fire in terms of its screen size as well as its shocking price tag, $199 apiece. Well done Google!

Unlike the Galaxy Tab 2 7inch which has poor built quality like many of Samsung’s other tablets and smartphones the search engine giant has done it right by giving it a sturdy look.

It is not only the slate that will be something new for tablet lovers but it has the latest version of Android installed in it, the Jelly Bean (4.1). The power of quad-core processor combined with GeForce 12-core GPU, having the res of 1280×800 (216ppi), Nexus 7 is all set to compete with high end dominator iPad.

It also features NFC, a 1.2MP front camera, Micro USB, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and 1GB of RAM with internal memory of 8GB and 16GB. Nexus 7 is manufactured by Asus, and it claims the 9 hours of battery time.

Pre-orders are in-place while it is expected to start shipping towards the mid of July. For the Brits it comes with limited time offer of £ 15 credit that can be spent in Google Play.

The Google branded tab will certainly disrupt the sales of many other slates that offer almost the same features with hefty price tag. All the same, I am really looking forward to get my hands on it.
