Flea3 is world’s smallest camera by its dimension (29mm x 29mm x 30mm) that produces an image with 4K pixels. Yes I know that it may not strike you that hard as did the Duke Device some days back when I enlightened you about it.
But, given the size of this non commercial camera, Point Grey has managed to pack 4K pixels in an image sensor of 1/2.3″ size. The 8MP Flea3 doesn’t promise to shock you with cinematic quality but it surely boosts your options for high resolution “automatic optical inspection, ophthalmology” at 21fps.
It features USB 3.0, gamma correction, color interpolation, temperature and status monitoring, 32 MB frame buffer and so on.
The price? That is the hardest part to tell if you’ve raised your expectations to buy a piece, it will cost $949. I cannot comment on the price since I haven’t got my hands on it yet.
The video above feature a non 4K version of Flea3.
