trashswag2 New Trashwag app makes it easier to find reusable and free stuff online

Many times you come across a house that has placed furniture or other things outside on the street because the owners don’t need it anymore and have got a replacement for it. These things can be useful to you and can be used for the purpose they are built for if you don’t mind utilizing an used item. As they say one man’s trash can be another man’s treasure.

To facilitate people looking for free used items and saving things from getting wasted or thrashed a Canadian company has built a web app called the Trashwag. What it does is pretty simple, it points out reusable stuff available in the neighborhood on the map and help people finding stuff that can be useful for them including furniture, old machinery etc. As its a web app it is not only compatible with computers but also works with smartphone and tablet platforms including iOS and Android.

The app relies on user submitted data. Users who see reusable stuff lying in the street can take a photo and mark the location on the map. Users who are giving away their old stuff in this fashion can also mark the position of their old stuff in the map so people looking for it can grab what’s useful for them. The submitter can not only specify the location on map along with a photo but they can also add details about the items, description about them, their current condition and more. If you find the items useful based on the data available online you can drive by to the place to further examine and pick the items for your use.

The Trashwag app has a really nice feature that allows users to rate the credibility of the person who uploaded a data online. Which means if the description available on Trashwag app was not truly representative of the things available or if it was fake then users can leave a negative report on that person’s profile and more.

The Trashwag app is available to users in Canada only however after the success and foreign interest in it the founder of Trashwag app are saying they are considering a global roll out of their service.

If you live in Canada then you can start using the Trashwag app by going to this link.
