Here are some of the simplest yet coolest hacks for Google Chrome that would take your Chrome experience to a whole new level.

1. Hover Zoom Extension

Tired of opening each image in the new tab because you don’t want to navigate away from the current page? Then this extension is just for you! With the Hover Zoom extension you can now just move your mouse and place your cursor over the picture you want to see and it will magnify it for you and you can easily view it, as long as your cursor stays over the picture.

2. Google Dictionary Extension

Having trouble understanding those difficult words? With Google Dictionary you can now view the quick definition of a word by just double clicking on it.

3. Pin Your Tabs

An easy way to save some space for the not-so-frequently opened tabs and to keep things a bit clean is to pin your frequently used tabs. Just right-click on an already opened tab and select the option that says “Pin tab” and your tab would be moved to the very left and the “X” mark will disappear so you don’t close it accidently.

4. Set Reminders from Search Bar

Get this extension and type “tm” in the search bar to activate the timer. Give some space and then set the time and write the message. At the specified time your message will be displayed on the Desktop with a notification.

5. The Incognito Mode

Using the Incognito mode, any pages that you may visit will not come in the browser’s history or the search history. Even the cookies and other traces won’t remain once you close all the windows. Although the files you download and the bookmarks you save would still remain.

6. Improve Spell Check

On the browser right-click on any word you type and then go to “Spell-checker options” and click “Ask Google for suggestions.” This would improve your spell check but be warned that Google will be getting even more information from you than it already does.

7. Add Custom Search Engines

Simply right-click on any search box and the select the option which says “Add as Search Engine” to add it as a Custom Search Engine. Another menu would appear and there you should use a memorable word as the keyword for the engine.
Then whenever you want to make a custom search simply type that keyword in the search bar and press space. This would give a command to Chrome to now search only that specific site.

8. TLDR Extension

How they do it is still a mystery, but one thing is for sure that they do an awesome job. If you wanna read a summary of a long article which you’re too lazy to read, just install this extension and it will somehow work its magic and give you a summary of the article you want.

9. Reopen Accidently Closed Tabs

We’ve all been in this situation. Get out of it easily by pressing Ctrl+Shift+T (for PC) and Command+Shift+T (for Mac) once you reopen your browser.

10. Use the Address bar as a Calculator

Yup, that’s right! Your Address bar DOES work as a calculator too! Try it right now!

11. Save All Tabs

To save all your tabs as bookmarks, press Ctrl+Shift+T (for PC) and Command+Shift+D (for Mac) and this would save them in a folder.
This is particularly useful when you’re making quick searches about a topic and don’t want to lose the tabs that you’ve already opened.
