google drive hero New Google Drive Reatime API released for developers to build collaborative apps

For its developers community Google has announced a really good news. Google has announced in its official blog post that it is introducing the new Google Drive Realtime API that will enable developers to build apps that would be able to take advantage of this technology and allow users to collaborate in real time. This would work similarly to how Google’s online doc apps work and enable multiple users to work on a project simultaneously.

The new API Google is releasing for developers will handle storage presence, conflict resolution, network communication, and other details involving collaborative applications. This would help developers a lot as it will significantly reduce the work require to build apps with collaborative working abilities. The API also manages certain other objects for the app that it can read  from and write to including lists, maps, strings and JSON values. It can automatically sync and store modifications of this object by the users working on anything together.

In the blog post announcing the new Google Drive Realtime API the company showcased some of the applications already taking advantage of the new API. These online apps include Neutron Drive, draw.io and Gantter.

If you are a developer and interested in making apps using the Google Drive Realtime API then check out the technical documentation and other info at the source link.
