google nasa logo merger Google and NASA team up to work on artificial intelligence with quantum supercomputer

The collaboration between Google and NASA continues as they have teamed up once again and this time they are focusing on a new laboratory, which will be focused on the advanced machine learning. The new laboratory will be hosted at the Ames Research Center of NASA in California and will be called the Quantum Artificial Intelligence Lab.

The research for making artificial intelligence better will involve the quantum supercomputer. The quantum supercomputer will be used by researchers from Universities Space Research Association as well as from all over the world who would work in order to get breakthroughs in the field of artificial intelligence.

Google is interested in researching on advanced artificial intelligence for a number of reasons. The company believes that quantum computing may help it in developing better speech recognition technology as well as better web search. The company also things that this research will be helpful for researchers in creating better models in order to study climate patterns and diseases. Google which is a partner with NASA on the Quantum Artificial Intelligence Lab initiative has already developed such machine-learning algorithms that would make mobile devices capable of recognizing data in order to save power as well as sort out wrong data found in the “highly polluted training data”.

It is important to note here that the quantum computer which is supplied by the D-Wave Systems operates differently than other supercomputers. It combines the atoms which work collectively as quantum bits.

Google and NASA plan on forcing these bits to interact with each other so they could carry out more than one calculations simultaneously.
